Kathryn Swain is a 21 year old singer/songwriter with big dreams.
Born in Cape Town, she spent her early childhood there before relocating with her family to Nashville, Tennessee and thereafter to Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK before returning to Cape Town in 2010.
Described by Bill Knight as “an artist with a truly Prodigious Talent“ and known to others as “the girl with the golden voice”, her acoustic performance has opened opportunities for her to play on numerous stages in and around Cape Town such as 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa, The Bay Hotel, The One & Only Hotel, The River Club (Observatory), The Table Bay Hotel, Monkey Valley Resort, Cafe Roux, Suikerbosie, Cape Point Vineyards, Carlyles on Derry and the Blue Lobster Stage at Oppi Koppi 2013.
Notably, she also worked with MSC Cruises internationally in late 2014 entertaining their guests on the Portuguese Island in Mozambique. She was also asked to perform at this years “SA Cheese Festival” and has recently opened for and been on tour to the Eastern Cape with popular Indie folk duo “Digby and the Lullaby”.
Kathryn has recorded her first alternative pop album entitled “Little Box of Memories” with producer Duncan Mackay of Down South Studios, who himself played keyboards for 1970’s megaband 10CC.
During weddings Kathryn performs a wide selection of cover songs as well as original compositions from her debut album.
